Why is Clean Water Important?
#SolidGround Sign to Make Access to Land the PRIORITY
Students from Delia Memorial School (Glee Path) took part in the Habitat Young Leaders Build 2016 on 25-27 March. Sweating under the burning sun, the students had never expressed a word of grumble. Instead, they found it an incredible journey of team work and joy.
There is a proverb about water in Bangladesh: “The other name for water is life.” Habitat Bangladesh worked on a series of measures to help villagers in a small village of Rishipara in southern Bangladesh to gain safe drinking water with deep-tube wells. Sanitary latrines were built. With lockable bath houses, women and girls now have privacy in bathing.    This October, thousands of world leaders will gather in Ecuador for the United Nations conference Habitat III to set up the New Urban Agenda which will help address urbanization challenges worldwide. Sign now to tell UN member states that access to land for shelter, must be a top priority in the New Urban Agenda.
