"I Have Triple Roles"
Volunteer Sharing - Helen Wong

Dressed in suit, Helen looks no different from an ordinary working mother. However, joining Habitat has made her life extraordinary. She is proud of herself taking up three important roles in Habitat: As a volunteer, a mother and a UST staff. Let's see how she encountered difficulties when she was a volunteer.

Project Home Works
A Significant Step Forward

Sleep with Goat
In order to earn money for repairing house, Liu worked away from home most of the year. Liu’s old house was dilapidated with cracked walls. The house could fall in any time and hardly be a shelter in case of natural disasters. To help Mr. Liu rebuild a safe and warm house, a group of volunteers came to the site. Although Liu’s new house is simple, it is a place where they can sleep peacefully and live with dignity.
Bertha's husband died suddenly,Bertha had to return to her birthplace, Nthiramanja, in southern Malawi's Mulanje district. She accepted the only accommodation the village could provide--a one-room mud-brick and thatched-roof structure for staying. They also shared the house with their goats who slept with them. You can imagine how difficult for Bertha to keep the house clean,  being ill became a fact of life.

In September, we are delighted to have volunteers  to bring our home parterns a better place to live.
