Earthquake leaves Wang in deepest despair

Wang Xing Qiong and her family are living in Maping Village, Tiantaishan Town. Her husband travelled to the Tibetan Plateau three years ago but was sent home due to a serious altitude sickness. Suffering from severe brain damage, he became incapable of taking care of himself. Since then, Xing Qiong has shouldered the heavy burden of the sole income earner for the whole family, taking care of her husband and looking after their young daugther.

Maping Village is one of the areas worst-hit by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Ya'an, Sichuan. The Ya'an Earthquake has increased Xing Qiong's burden even more as their home was torn apart – part of the flooring was destructed by a landslide. Now, they are currently living in a temporary relief tent provided by the government and using a temporary stove to cook.

Donate NOW to help Wang and other affected families!

Habitat for Humanity China has set up the "Sichuan Post-Earthquake Rebuilding Fund" to formulate a long-term post-disaster rebuilding strategy. Affected families will become partners with Habitat, by receiving direct grants to build safe, decent and permanent homes!

HFH China will organize a series of events, including a charity basketball tournament and recruiting volunteers to distribute relief materials in quake-hit area. Details will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
