Bosch recently announced that Bosch Automotive Multimedia Division's Future Cabin (Shanghai) Technology Center was officially
opened in Pudong, Zhangjiang. With a working area of 2,500 square meters, the new technology center will become the third largest technology center in China outside the Suzhou and Wuhu Technology Centers. Bosch Future Cabin (Shanghai) Technology Center will
focus on product development in the field of smart cockpit, such as infotainment on-board computer, driver and passenger monitoring system, 5G-V2X vehicle interconnect control unit, etc., to further enhance the software in the future driving field. Comprehensive research and development capabilities, and provide fast and quality engineering services to local customers.

The Internet in China has developed rapidly, and the acceptance of digital services is relatively high. It provides a good environment for
the development of connected traffic and provides a solid foundation for the localization of Bosch Future Cabin (Shanghai) Technology Center. Dr. Steffen Berns, global president of Bosch Automotive Multimedia Division, said that from the global auto market, China has become the main battlefield for technological innovation. Especially in the field of smart interconnection, China has become a pioneer in
this field. The launch of this future cabin (Shanghai) technology center will further enhance Bosch's global competitiveness in the field of smart connectivity.

With the deepening of automation and interconnection, cars are gradually becoming the “third space” outside of people's lives and work.
The smart cockpit has also become the core concept of the "third space." Over the years, touch screens and speech recognition have gradually replaced traditional automotive mechanical buttons and switches, but the use of navigation systems, on-board computer menus
or applications, etc., have caused interference to the driving behavior itself, which has affected road safety to a certain extent. The smart cockpit technology being developed by Bosch can help drivers focus more on driving itself. A car display with tactile feedback will help simplify the operation of various functions. For example, the handling of various in-vehicle applications will be faster, simpler, and safer.
In addition, the touch screen's buttons feel very realistic, and the tactile feedback function gives the driver a better operating experience, making it more focused on the road. The driver monitoring system can monitor the driver's state in the driving process in detail, and
promptly issue warnings in the case of driver fatigue and distraction to improve the safety of driving.

The development of cockpit technology puts higher demands on data processing, wiring and in-vehicle network architecture. In today's production cars, there are usually more than 100 electronic control units (ECUs) to control and regulate vehicle functions, of which up to
15 electronic control units are used to operate displays and electronic devices. Therefore, more processing power is required to complete
the coordination between the vehicle information and the multi-screen display. In the future, Bosch will control the entire human-computer interaction system through infotainment on-board computers to integrate and implement more functions on a single central processor.
The processor will centralize and synchronize all infotainment systems, instrument clusters and other displays, all of which can be coordinated, processed and displayed at any time in the vehicle for any location desired by the user. In the future, with wireless
software update technology, infotainment in-vehicle computers and human-computer interaction systems can also be updated in real
ime like smartphones.

Growing vehicle functionality and computing & communication performance drive evolution of the E/E Architectures. Domain centralized
E/E-architectures are still considered as mainstream 2021. Increasing amount of major OEMs envisage introduction of vehicle centralized E/E-architectures (domain oriented / mixed zone) until ~2025.
At the upcoming “ Automotive E/E Architecture Technology Innovation China Conference ” to be held on the 7 - 8 Nov. 2019 in Shanghai. Mr. Jing Zhe, the Engineering Director Systems Engineering & Technical Strategy and AUTOSAR China Representative of Bosch (China) Investment Ltd. will give a keynote presentation on the topic of  Functional & E/E Architecture – A Change for the Automotive Industry, that will give you a great vision of future

Presentation Topics: “ Functional & E/E
ArchitectureA Change for the Automotive Industry”

Growing vehicle functionality and computing&

the E/E Architectures. Domain centralized E/E-arch
itectures are still considered as mainstream
2021. Increasing amount of major OEMs envisage introduction of vehicle centralized E/E

(domain oriented / mixed zone) until ~2025.
This presentation shares opinion on future E/E
Architecture development trend, and its
influence on functional and software architectures.

Speaker: Jing Zhe, Engineering Director Systems
Engineering & Technical Strategy; AUTOSAR

Presentation Topics: “Aggregation and integration
of next-generation vehicle computing and the OS
technologies”

As the C.A.S.E, namely Connected, Autonomous,
Sharing/Service, and Electric have become the
driving force of the vehicle design, the E/E
architecture design will also inevitably change.
The design shift challenges the current highly
distributed vehicle computing architecture,
as the software needs to be aggregated and
integrated to the level that is never imagined
before. The software platform such as
AUTOSAR or ROS with its underlying OS will
be the key to realize a high-performance but
energy-efficient, deterministic, cost-effective
safe system. This talk will provide insights into
the software challenges and the role OS plays to tackle the E/E architecture design shift.
