Without 24-7 connectivity, new cars are almost impossible to sell these days. Online connections are an important enabler of comfort options and modern travel services. Sadly, from a security angle, they are fraught with risks. Systematically assessing risk allows you to recognise potential threats posed to a networked car. Clever hackers often know immediately where they can find back-door entrances that are sometimes accidentally left open during your product development process, even if you did put defence mechanisms in place.
A new regulation called UNECE WP.29 and ISO / SAE 21434 stipulate that vehicle cyber security will soon become a condition for type approval. This challenges OEMs to implement and prove appropriate protective measures. With cybersecurity management systems, companies should be able to define, control and control security along the entire value chain.
At the 5th Annual China Automotive Cyber Security Summit 2020 to be held on the 26th - 28th in Shanghai, Dr. Dennis Kengo Oka the Sr. Solution Architect of Synopsys Software Integrity Group will make a keynote presentation talking about security activities in the development process based on ISO/SAE 21434 to help automotive companies develop more secure systems. He will discuss practical implementation examples for each cybersecurity step added in the development process. Specifically, He will provide some examples on what is required from a resources and tools perspective to ensure an efficient and practical implementation of the various steps in the development process.his empowers you to spot threats before they come beating down the door, thereby shielding your company and your automotive systems against dangers in the most effective possible way.
