If you think wireless charging remains on theory, you then out! Nowadays Tesla, Volvo, Audi and BMW, Volvo, Mercedes, BYD,Yutong etc. traditional Auto giants has started the research and development of wireless charging system. While global telecommunication and IT companies also have capitalized in the new wireless charging area.
Imagine an electric car that charges itself automatically, with no cords or plugs, will get rid of the constrains of heavy battery models and wire safety issues. Car makers and industry experts agree that wireless charging will be a key factor in gaining broad consumer acceptance of electrified vehicles.
On the strategic planning of wireless charging model, the industry still discuss on the choice of a static, semi-dynamic and dynamic charging pattern. Lacking of unified charging standard, charging efficiencies, and excessive electromagnetic radiation are also the challenges of wireless charging. How is the current and future look of wireless charging, Mr. David Schatz Vice President of Sales & Business Development from WiTricity Corporation, will make a presentation at the “3rd Annual China EV/PHEV & Charging Infrastructure Summit”. WiTricity is the technology leader and holds the foundational IP for highly resonant wireless power transfer, the technology of choice for electric vehicle charging. WiTricity is dominating the global Automotive inductive wireless charging systems market.
Mr.Schatz leads WiTricity’s commercial activity in wireless charging for electrified vehicles, and works closely with WiTricity’s OEM and Tier 1 partners on a global basis. His presentation will provide an overview of wireless charging for EV &PHEV platforms, including the status of OEM and tier one introduction of wireless charging programs, industry standardization, and capabilities of systems now being developed in cooperation by car makers, tier one suppliers, and WiTricity Corporation.

"I am pleased to write this greeting message and wish the 3rd Electric Vehicles Infrastructure Development Summit every success!
I have been engaging in the research and development of electric vehicles for almost four decades and witnessed it’s up and down. I am very happy to share my feeling that we are seeing the dawn of the commercialization of electric vehicles. The success of commercialization of electric vehicles depends on the satisfactory tackling of four factors: initial cost, convenience of use, energy consumption and exhaust emission. Therefore, we need to pay further efforts towards the following three fundamental enablers or three goodness factors: 1. Availability of good performance products at affordable cost; 2. Availability of good infrastructures that is efficient and friendly to use; and 3. Availability of good business model to leverage the cost of batteries. This summit provide a platform to exchange ideas and experience and hence to promote the rapid development of Electric Vehicles Infrastructure."
