Hello,
It's a busy time for our teachers right now: Andrew Swift has just finished a successful run of Sweet & Sour Productions Sleuth, Naomi Symeou directed the musical Romeo and Harriet for Wah Yan College Kowloon, Roxana and Yen Yen appeared in Opera Hong Kong's production of La Boheme and I will be judging a heat of HK's Global Battle of the Bands, performing in ACT's What A Pair 2 in aid of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation and designing the make-up for Stylus Production's Rocky Horror Show.
Next month, our teachers will be performing together for the first time in two recitals at Sheung Wan Civic Centre's Lecture Hall. Each teacher will be presenting a selection of their favourite music as well as singing some ensemble pieces – it will be a mixed musical bag! Tickets will be available from URBTIX from 25th October.
Also in November will be the next round of auditions for Katterwall Youth Music Theatre lead by Andrew (see below for more details). Drop us a line if you've know an 13 – 18 year old itching to improve their MT skills.

Katterwall Youth Music Theatre Term 1011B Auditions in November
not just another afterschool activity!
K.Y.M.T. started in September for teenagers ages 13 - 18, boys and girls. We have been working on songs from Children of Eden by Stephen Schwartz (the composer who wrote Wicked) as well as the Zulu Chants from The Lion King and some Sondheim contrapuntal work from Merrily We Roll Along.
We meet 2 hours every Monday to focus on:
- Musical Theatre numbers from different eras
- Devising new musical theatre work
- Improving vocal and acting technique
- Learning about audition / exam preparation
All members are required to join a solo audition and an emsemble audition. Please email audition@katterwall.com to book an audition time and for more details.
Term 1011B: $3,840, from 3rd January to 28th March 2011.

New Administrator at Katterwall: Welcome Wyman Yuen!
Wyman graduated with a music degree in Performance and Teaching at Trinity College of Music in London and then completed her Mmus in Historical Musicicology at Goldsmiths University of London before returning to Hong Kong in 20. Upon completing her studies, Wyman has been an active piano accompanist, piano teacher and an arts administrator. Prior joining Katterwall, she was Assistant Manager at a local theatre company, coordinating musical courses, workshops and performances.
Wyman will be managing individual lessons at Katterwall Vocal Academy. Please contact Wyman at wyman@katterwall.com to book your lessons.
