Hello and welcome to Katterwall's first newsletter. September marks the start of our new year and I can't wait to get going. 2007-08 will see fabulous concerts, a new teacher arriving, a new rehearsal space and a 'Greatest Hits' (so far) CD for Kassia Women's Choir... it's all go! Rehearsals for all groups start within the next few weeks, so if you fancy having a sing, don't forget to drop us a line!

Thought for the day... |
|
|
"Music is the purest form of art...therefore, true poets, they who are seers, seek to express the universe in terms of music. The singer has everything within him. The notes come out from his very life. They are not materials gathered from the outside."
- Rabindranath Tagore |

Q: How many altos does it take to change a light bulb? A: None. They can't get up that high.
A refreshing definition: Opera is when a bloke gets stabbed in the back and, instead of bleeding, he sings. |

My Choice: "If I Was a Boat" by Lyle Lovett
"I associate this song with my Dad who is a truly brilliant musician. He sits on the sofa with his guitar like it is just an extension of his arm and plays for hours. His music is the soundtrack of my life and this song is one that makes regular appearances." |
