Workshop on Performance Appraisal Interviewing Skills

 
Performance appraisal is an important management tool for managing individual performance. More importantly, it drives business execution by making sure all employees are aligned with the organization’s business strategy. To maximize the effectiveness of performance appraisal systems, clear goals mapped to business strategies, accurate and fair evaluation standards, and particularly, managers’ and supervisors’ appraisal skills are necessary. This workshop equips participants with knowledge and field-proven techniques through a step-by-step approach for conducting effective appraisal interviews with subordinates. Skills such as motivation via giving positive feedbacks, handling emotional staff, and exploration of staff’s real development needs will be illustrated. A positive working environment, as well as the continuous improvement culture will also be advocated.

Mr. Wilson Chu, Principal Consultant of HMI Consulting Limited, the Consulting Associate of the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Baptist University, and also the Visiting Lecturer of SPEED of Polytechnic University on Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Human Resource Management. He was the Survey Manager (in Compensation & Benefits) of Watson Wyatt Hong Kong Limited and a senior consultant of Hong Kong Productivity Council. Mr. Chu has extensive consulting and training experience.
