DEKRA’s battery testing laboratory in Guangzhou, China is now authorized by CTIA to undertake battery tests according to the certification programme. Hence, DEKRA can now provide these services to battery producers and manufacturers incorporating batteries in their products. This will help to ensure that these essential energy sources for mobile electronics are both safe and effective.

Most mobile telephones, tablet computers and similar devices use Lithium ion batteries. As the performance and safety of these batteries is key to user satisfaction it is essential that they meet the relevant standards. The CTIA battery certification programme is based on IEEE 1725 - 2011: Rechargeable Batteries for Cellular Telephones, and IEEE 1625 - 2008: Rechargeable Batteries for Multi-Cell Mobile Computing Devices.
