According to the statistics of the first half year from China Customs, the gross furniture export in Guangdong Province is 12.107 billion USD, with 24.42% increase and 2.377 billion USD more compared with the one in last year which was 9.73 billion USD. Thus Guangdong Province continues to be one of the leading provinces in China’s furniture export whose amount accounts for 46.3% of the gross export 26.144 billion USD within the country. The total sales volume in Guangdong Province for the first half year is RMB 109.5 billion, with 6.3% increase compared with the one in last year which was RMB 103 billion, while the number of the furniture manufacturers is growing by 15% in average in the recent 5 years. 1

EU Furniture Standard Update: CEN Publishes a New EN Standard (EN 16139: 2013) for the Requirements for the Strength, Durability and Safety of Non – Domestic Seating.

The standard concerns test requirements for non-domestic seating such as swiveling chairs, chairs with and without castors, office visitor chairs and similar. The new EN standard requires conflicting standards to be withdrawn at the latest by September 2013. So in effect the new standard come into force at the end of August 2013.2

按国家海关总署数据统计上半年广东省家具出口121.07亿美元，比去年同期97.3亿美元增长24.42%，净增长23.77亿美元，占全国家具出口261.44亿美元的46.3%，继续成为我国家具出口的龙头省份。今年1至6月全省家具总销售额1095亿元人民币，比去年同期1030亿元增长6.3%，而最近五年广东家具行业平均递增幅度为15%。

欧盟新标准: 欧盟发表了一项新的欧洲标准（EN 16139: 2013）针对非家用座椅强度,耐久性和安全性的要求。

该标准主要关于非家庭用座椅的测试标准，包括转椅、滑椅和非滑椅、办公室访客椅等。新的EN标准已在2013年8月底生效，并要求有冲突的标准在2013年9月前撤销。
