Actions Needed - New EU Toys Safety Standard was published
On Oct-1-2014, European Committee for Standardization published a new version of EN 71-3:2013+A1:2014. This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the migration of certain elements which are well-known as 19 Heavy Elements. According to the committee announcement, the current version EN 71-3:2013 should be withdrawn on Apirl-1-2015. In additions, the new version of EN71-3:2013+A1:2014 would be cited by European Commission soon so that it would become the harmonized standard of Toys Safety Directive 2009/48/EC.
In additions, EN 71-1:2011+A3:2014 & EN 71-2:2011+A3:2014, the requirements of Physical & Flammability were into force on Oct-1-2014 too. Immediate actions are required to update the physical test requirements and assure the toys shall be in compliance with the new requirements cited.
