Aloha Friday comes alive at Marriot as colleagues are given an opportunity to learn hula, enjoy Hawaiian music and share their wonderful experiences about Hawaii to recharge their body and mind. Now, TGIF takes on a whole new meaning with Aloha! |
HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education |

HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE) is the leading local provider in continuing education. Course enrolments since 1956 have well exceeded two million. The School is now collaborating with the Hong Kong International Hula Association to offer courses to update the knowledge and skills for the community on Hawaiian culture and dance.

Lei Pikake |
Pîkake was the Hawaiian name for Princess Kaiulani's beloved peacocks. She was also fond of the jasmine. which was then called pikake in her honor. The fragrant pîkake lei is known as the twilight or evening lei because it is strung in the evening and is popular for weddings. Lei Pikake is a very affectionate song, which starts with the following verse:
The fragrance of the pikake is wafted
By a gentle blowing of the wind
I love the flower that constantly attracts ...

Weekday Workshops |

Date: October 22nd, 2012 (Monday) Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Location: 5th floor, 3 Seymour Road, Hong Kong
Fee: $600 In response to requests from our members, we shall be providing hula workshops during weekdays. We have invited Kumu Noelani from Hawaii to kick off the first weekday workshop for us on Monday October 22nd.
Please mark this date on your calendar. For new members who wish to join us, please complete the enrolment form and return it to HKIHA@cnconsultants.com. If you may need Japanese translation during the workshop, please indicate this on the form too. We look forward to sharing hula with you! |
