Dinner Talk on Culture and Heritage Preservation in a Modern Society

We have invited cultural consultant, Noelani Chang, from Hawaii to give a talk on Culture and Heritage Preservation in a Modern Society.

More of us are seeing the value of heritage preservation in Hong Kong.   This is shown in the enthusiasm expressed in the  increasing support from society for preservation of heritage sites and buildings.  Hawaiian heritage and culture has suffered from a period of banishment in the past but is now becoming the premier tourist attraction.  We shall be able to gain some insights on the critical success factors for heritage preservation and cultural development through the Hawaiian experience.

Noelani Chang is a cultural consultant and a hula schoolmistress in Waianae, Hawaii, for the past 17 years. She teaches at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu and travels regularly to cities in Japan and the mainland US to conduct seminars and workshops.   We are honored to be able to invite her to share her knowledge with us on this Asian trip.
