Representatives of the HKIHA greeted the family and the support team of Olympian Daniel Coakley from the Big Island of Hawaii at a dinner reception at the Crown Plaza Hotel Beijing International Airport. A documentary showing how Daniel swam his way from a small town in Hawaii to the big pool in Beijing will be shown on KHON, the FOX channel, at 10:30 pm Hawaiian time.
Members who were in Beijing deeply felt the universal values of the Olympic spirit -- Unity, Friendship, Progress, Harmony, Participation and Dream. It amazes us how closely these values match with those of the Hong Kong International Hula Association to share the Aloha spirit and strive for a harmonious future for mankind across national boundaries.

A very hearty welcome to Dr. Roberta Wong Leung, who joint HKIHA in August. Roberta was born and raised in Hawaii but have spent the past 3 years in China as Dean/Professor Emeritus at Shunde Polytechnic. She is now helping the City University of Hong Kong to start a new Associate Degree programme in Hospitality Management.
Many thanks to Roberta for introducing HKIHA to important people with a keen interest in promoting Hula in Hong Kong and China.
