Bishop Museum Hawaiian Hall Grand Opening

The Bishop Museum’s 120-year-old exhibit space in Honolulu is getting a grand reintroduction to the public, celebrating the completion of three years and $16 million worth of renovations.  Performances from hula halau precede the customary untying of maile lei that officially reopens the building.

Kumu Noelani is inviting us to join the halau on 29 August to visit the Museum and experience the artifacts to have a better understanding of how rich Hawaiian culture is. Members who wish to join please email HKIHA@cnconsultants.com to enrol.

To cater for participants from Japan, we have conducted a special hula class on 3 August providing simultaneous translation in Japanese.  Participants had lots of fun in the class. Translation service will be arranged for our future activities when we expect a substantial number of registrants from Japan.

We Welcome the World

Member’s Corner

Lewis, our International Member from Los Angeles, returned home safely after completing two months of internship programme in Shenzhen.  He enjoyed sampling a wide variety of the world-famous South China cuisine during his stay but missed the hard-to-come-by opportunity to try doggy meat while he was in Guangzhou.  Delicious it may seem, but don’t try this at home!
