Culture Preservation in a Modern Society
|
We have invited Kumu Noelani from Hawaii to share with us the history of Hawaiian culture and its legends in a round table dinner talk on 23rd of December, so that our members and friends in Hong Kong can learn first-hand from an expert the richness of the Hawaiian heritage.
Senior officials from educational institutions, together with representatives from the Hong Kong Business Association of Hawaii and the legal professions, engaged in a candid discussion of the topic after the talk by Kumu.
HKIHA will continue to arrange, from time to time, seminars on topics relating to Hawaiian culture and hula for the benefits of its members and friends.

Aloha Fun Day
|

Fresh colourful flowers and lively Hawaiian music blew away the winter chill as members and friends enjoyed an afternoon of lei-making and hula-dancing.
Parents and children spent quality time together as they custom designed their leis with assorted flowers. Terry and Lounce, who were themselves dance instructors, said that they thoroughly enjoy dancing hula for the first time as they diligently practised the newly learnt motions. Our special thanks went to Sylvia and Joyce, who helped us take the professional images for our sweet memores.

Committee members of the Hong Kong International Hula Association would like to wish every one of our members and friends from around the world a joyous Christmas and a prosperous new year!
