Calon Segur was owned by Nicolas-Alexandre, Marquis de Ségur in 18th century (The famous "prince of vines"). He also owned Chateau Lafite and Latour at that time. Despite his ownership of these two First Growths, he still declared: "my heart is at Calon". This shows how persistent his love is for this wine.
Calon Segur is powerful, rich, full-bodied and full of aromas. It is aged for 18-20 months in new oak barrels. Calon Segur is made for long-term aging, but still can drink in young, to taste its fineness, freshness and interesting characters developments in its different maturing stages.
