Inside the Silversmith's Studio
Liang Yi Talks: The Spring Silver Series
|
|
Speaker: Kyosun Jung
In conjunction with the launch of Masterpieces of British Silver: Highlights from the Victoria and Albert Museum on March 21, Liang Yi Museum presents a new series of monthly talks. Liang Yi Talks: The Spring Silver Series, running from April to June 2016, features leading experts and artists in the field of silver.
Kyosun Jung, winner of the Goldsmiths’ Company’s prestigious Young Designer Silversmith Award (2013), begins the series by discussing the creative process involved in producing contemporary studio silver. Currently working in the London workshop of renowned silversmith Clive Burr, Kyosun produced one of the most impressive works in the exhibition; a sake set modelled after bamboo. She explains how the infinite patterns and textures of nature have inspired her artistically, as well as how she incorporates emerging design technologies into her work.
Inside the Silversmith’s Studio is co-presented with Asian Art Hong Kong (AAHK), an annual cultural festival promoting antique and contemporary Asian Art in the city.
