"There's a study that states China's Employee Engagement is much lower than the US (6% vs. 19%). I believe, regardless of China or internationally, employees without a sense of ownership, are unlikely to be engaged, because:

  • Lack of trust due to too much punishment management;

  • Authoritarian management bruises the ego and dignity;

  • Lack of buy-in to corporate slogans;

  • Sacrificing ideals and sense of purpose for the sake of money;

  • Bureaucracy resulting in disgust among employees"
