Microfinance to defeat global poverty
Traditionally, credit services are only provided to people with income or collateral. Microfinance is able to fill this gap by providing innovative and suitable micro credit services including housing, savings and fund transfer for the low income people without collateral. Adopting the same concept, Grameen Bank provides short term micro credit to people with productivity to improve their lives.
HKSEC proudly presents the last Social Entrepreneur Talk of 2009 with the special theme on Microfinance. We are honored to have invited Ms.
Jennifer Meehan, CEO (Asia Region) of Grameen Foundation, and Mr. Herman To, Director of Habitat for Humanity China, to interpret how
microfinance fight against the poverty problem, as well as its potential developments in Asia and Greater China.
