The 3rd BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards 2012 is Now Open for Entries


The much anticipated BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards 2012 organized by WealthAsia Media is now open for entries.

Now in its 3rd year, the annual Awards are the most coveted and must-have prize for the banking and insurance sector. The Awards’ Outstanding Achievers and Best-in-Class winners abide to stringent qualifying criteria and judging process led by BENCHMARK’S editorial committee, a panel of independent jurors who are leading experts and veterans of the finance industry, incorporating the results from social media capture and public polling.

The organizer has brought in the aspect of social media to 7 of the 12 unique awards as judging criteria this year, and is also introducing a special award – the Social Media Engagement Award - which is not open for submissions.

“Whether this industry likes it or not, social media has become a big part of consumers’ buying habits, which most financial service organizations have been slow to take advantage of. We have therefore wanted to incorporate social media capture to the best practice assessment criteria of some of this year’s award categories, where public opinion carries a heavier weight,” says Elsa Pau, Publisher and CEO of WealthAsia.

7 awards will make reference to the Brand Popularity Index (BPI) prepared by the Awards’ data partner, K – Matrix, to include data from 70 reputable and representative websites in Hong Kong, selected with reference to their website traffic, content quality and user activity level. Calculation is based on the largest digital intelligence database in the Greater China area which has had 4 billion discussion posts since 2007. The system monitors an average of 70,000 talking netizens and 350,000 discussion posts every day. The BPI scores will be accounted for 20% of the total scores for the respective awards*. The time period of data captured for these awards is from June 1, 2011 and May 30, 2012.

The deadline for entries is August 15, 2012 and the deadline for paper submissions is September 5, 2012. The results will be announced during the Awards Gala Dinner held on November 28, 2012 at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel.
