This is an exhibition belongs to all Hong Kong people
The co-exhibition of the four contemporary artists, Mak Tin Kit, Cheuk
Hiu Kwong , Law Ho Wah and Wong Hong Keung, will be held at the Art of Nature
International in late March. They work through realism and present us the
daily lives of Hong Kong people. Through the embellishment under artists’
brush, you can get a taste of the hidden side of Hong Kong.
In recent years, Hong Kong people very much
emphasize the idea “collective memory”. Here in the exhibition, you are going
to shuttle back and forth through the space and time tunnel, returning to the
60’s and 70's of Hong Kong. You will see people’s life in public estate, the
scene of people doing business at street-side stalls etc. All these remind us
the industrious spirit of Hong Kong people. In this series of paintings,
there might not have any magnificent scene or beautiful expression, yet it surely evokes resonance among audience.
The artists silently record the reality of Hong Kong, presenting us with the
most sincere and exquisite expression technique. They help to record the
triviality in lives, this enables the old Hong Kong memories to be passed on
to the next generation.
Four of the art pieces in this exhibition will be recommended to
participate in the Sotheby’s Spring Auction in Hong Kong Convention and
Exhibition Centre on 6 April, 2013. If you would like to get a glimpse at
Hong Kong’s present and the past, you must not miss this co-exhibition.
