Pisseguin St. Emilion

        

Two important things to note here: Puisseguin is a "satelite" region adjacent to the more famous vineyards of
St. Emilion, meaning that it shows a lot of the charecteristics of that region but at a more modest cost.  Second,
it is a Rothschild property meaning that the great bordeaux family bought this property and upgraded
the vineyareds and the winery.

Tasting Note:
The blend is mostly merlot showing nice plum and spice aromas., with some Cabernet Sauvignon adding structure.  
From a small region next to Saint-Emilion and from an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux, this has very good,
complex fruit character, with solid plum and dark berry flavours. Great balance and fine tannins,
and an excellent match for rich red meat and game.  Drink Now to 2020

Tasting Note:
This outstanding 2010 boasts an opaque ruby/purple color as well as copious notes of kirsch,
licorice and sandalwood, excellent fruit on the attack and mid-palate, a medium-bodied mouthfeel
and sweet tannin in the finish. This beauty will benefit from 2-4 years of cellaring and drink well for
15-20 years Guide Hachette 2010.
