Tasting Note:
Blended of 75% Shiraz, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc,
the 2006 Keyneton Estate Euphonium was aged in 30% new, 70% seasoned French and American oak
hogsheads for 18 months. Deep garnet-purple colored, it has an expressive nose of crushed blackberries,
blueberry pie filling, cinnamon, cloves, warm plums and a whiff of toasty cedar plus just a suggestion of chocolate.
Rich, full and crisp on the palate, it has medium-firm finely grained tannins, understated harmony and a long,
purely fruited finish. It’s approachable now but I suspect it will have more to show in a year or two and should cellar to 2020+.

Tasting Note:
Aged in 100% new oak (70% French and 30% American), the 2001 Shiraz Old Vine Collection
is an amazing Shiraz produced from 92- to 139-year-old vines. Surprisingly, it possesses “only” 14+% alcohol.
A deep saturated purple color is followed by aromas of espresso roast, white chocolate, pepper,
blackberry liqueur, and melted asphalt. This is a youthful, primary red displaying an incredible wealth of fruit,
magnificent glycerin as well as depth, and a monster finish of 70+ seconds.
This stunning 2001 should hit its prime in 2-4 years, and last for 15 or more.

The brilliant 2010 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Rasteau La Fontaine is aged in a combination
of tank and 600-liter demi-muids. Off the charts concentration and a bigger than life personality
characterize this inky/purple-colored Rasteau. Notes of truffles, camphor, chocolate, kirsch,
blackberries, roasted meats and bouquet garni emerge from this full-bodied, multidimensional effort.
It is one of the finest Rasteaus I tasted on my tour through the southern Rhone Valley.
Drink it over the next 15+ years.
