1. Chateau Clos de L'Oratoire 2008
St. Emilion GCC
R.Parker Rating: 90 Points
Stepen Tanzer Rating: 91 points
James Suckling Rating: 90 points
Special case price $360/b

Tasting Note:
The 2008 Clos de l’Oratoire (13.5% natural alcohol, and the same blend) is brilliant, a top-notch
effort for the vintage. From the estate’s 25-acre vineyard planted on clay and limestone soils,
this wine has a dense plum/purple color and a sweet kiss of mulberry, black cherry and cassis,
with some subtle barbecue smoke and leafy underbrush notes. Medium to full-bodied, opulent and fleshy,
this wine (Stephane Derenoncourt is the consultant) is already drinking beautifully and will continue
to do so for 10 or more years.  Drink Now to 2021.

2. Chateau Barde Haut 2006
St. Emilion GC
Jean-Marc Quarin Rating: 92 Points
Falstaff Magazin Rating: 92 points

Special case price $270/b

Tasting Note:
This richly fruity, disarmingly charming 2006 exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue in addition to elegant black currant
and blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice and underbrush, a plush texture, sweet tannin, and a layered finish.
This is a hedonistic wine to enjoy over the next decade.  Drink Now to 2020.

3. Chateau Haut Bergey 2004
Pessac Leognan
Jean-Marc Quarin Rating: 91 Points
R.Parker Rating: 90 points
Special case price: $270/b

Tasting Note:
A top-notch effort from proprietress Helene Garcin, Haut-Bergey’s 2004 exhibits an evolved, cedary, smoky,
tobacco, and sweet cherry-scented bouquet offered in a medium-bodied, supple-textured style. It is not as big
or forceful as the 2005 nor as structured as the 2006, but rather it is evolved, seductive, and ideal for
drinking over the next 10 years.  Drink Now to 2018.

4. Chateau Grand Mayne 2001
St. Emilion GC
R.Parke Rating: 89 Points
Wine Spectator Rating: 89 points
Stephen Tanzer Rating: 89 points
Special case price $460/b

Tasting Note:
Grand Mayne is one of my favorite Bordeaux estates for both high quality and good value. The 2001 does not
possess the power and depth of either the 2000 or 1998, but it is impeccably well-made. Husky, but sexy,
this nicely textured, dark ruby/purple-colored effort reveals hints of espresso roast intermixed with creamy vanillin,
blackberries, and currants. While foursquare/monolithic, it exhibits good sweetness and purity, medium body,
and ripe tannin. Give it another 1-2 years of cellaring, and consume it over the following 12-15 years.  Drink Now to 2020.
